Here in the UK there has been a couple of very sad incidents where police dogs have perished in the back of police cars. The policemen that were responsible were suitably devastated, but I still don't understand how they could have been left in the first place?
These atrocities must stop! What would you do if you saw a dog in distress? I suppose the first thing would be to contact the police and hope they arrive in time.....but what if it was a desperate situation? Well I for one couldn't just stand back and allow the animal to suffer......
It makes my blood boil to hear these stories of dogs left to die in hot cars, and it has to be said some of our police dog handlers seem to be the worse culprits of late. If you have not got anywhere to keep your dog cool when you go out in the car THEN LEAVE THE DOG AT HOME!! Its not rocket science just plain good old fashioned common sense!! My first action would be to call the police but if they take too long then I would have no problem in breaking a window to get the dog out, my stomach is not strong enough to watch a dog die in such terrible circumstances.
